Opportunities

Church Planters:  Imagine flying hundreds of miles across snow covered mountains and glaciers in a small bush plane in order to land on a gravel landing strip in a native village.  Most villages have between 100 and 300 residents living isolated from the road system and many of its comforts.  Most villages have astronomical alcoholism, suicide and abuse rates.  Most villages today still have no functioning church. 

Each of these special villages are filled with people in need of the Savior.   Would you be willing to live in a cold and isolated environment to see a community have an established church?  Maybe you are the one God is sending to a beautiful people that need the hope that only Christ can give?   God could use you to plant a church in a community that currently has no access to one!

Village Servers:  The limited number of villages that do have missionaries planting churches are always looking for willing servants to come alongside them.  Your gift of children's or youth ministry, or maybe your ability to work with your hands could be used to enlarge a new church plant.  If you are a certified teacher you could possibly get access to a village through the school system that otherwise is inaccessible to standard missionaries.  What are your abilities and desires?  Could God use those in this cross-cultural setting? 

Instructors:  Alaska Bible Institute operates as a tuition-free Bible training center.  This means that we are always on the look-out for qualified and committed servants of the King who desire to invest in this next generation of Christian leaders in a missionary environment.

Intercessors:  Your investment on your knees before the Father can be so effective.  You could wage war on behalf of Alaska’s villages along with their missionaries and young churches right where you are at.  Contact AVM to get on the mailing lists of one of our missionaries so that you can pray intelligently and effectively for a native village, ABI instructor, or other staff.

Investors:  We praise God that He has sustained and propelled this ministry for over four decades completely debt free in our churches, radio translater stations and school campus.  How?  Through people like you whom He calls to invest into spreading the Gospel in Alaska via church planting, Alaska Bible Institute, and broadcasting Christian radio.  Prayerfully consider investing today in one of the ministries of Alaska Village Missions.
